Occlusal adjustment, or bite adjustment/therapy, corrects issues causing the jaw to close in an imperfect position. It involves repairing damage on the biting surfaces of a tooth, or teeth, to improve function or morphology. Occlusal adjustment involves the grinding and reshaping of selected tooth surfaces to improve contact patterns and eliminating contact spots of excess pressure.
